Caring for Your Handcrafted Jewellery

A few tips to keep your jewellery in good condition:

- Avoid contact with chemicals as these can tarnish precious metals and discolour or ruin gemstones and pearls. Spray any perfume / hair spary etc and let it dry before putting on your jewellery.

- Avoid leaving your jewellery out in the open air or near base metals whilst not wearing them as this can tarnish precious metals. Keep your precious metal jewellery stored in a jewellery box and away from non precious metal costume jewellery.

- Avoid getting your jewellery wet as this can tarnish precious metals and ruin porous gemstones and pearls. Remove it before washing up, showering, or swimming etc.

- With gemstone and pearl jewellery avoid extreme sunlight - by extreme I mean avoid sunbathing with your jewellery on as it can discolour the stones and pearls.

- Polish silver and gold with a polishing cloth when it becomes dull. You can purchase one of these from me on my spares and extras page.
